WHY ITC ACCREDITED?
High-quality postsecondary education and the effectiveness of the accreditation system that American institutions and professions developed to advance that quality are attested to by the large percentage of Americans who benefit from higher education, the reputation of American universities for both essential and applied learning, and the availability of professional services in the country.
As a significant necessity for the higher status of an institution, an accreditation not only affirms its quality but adds to its enhancement as well. A specialized certifying organization concentrates its efforts on a specific programme inside a higher education institution and offers a fundamental guarantee of the extent and caliber of professional or occupational training.
Institutions that have obtained and maintained accreditation are included in organizations that undertake institutional accreditation. These organizations may be nationwide or regional in scope. These organizations take into account the traits of entire institutions. This is why an institutional accrediting body pays attention to other institutional qualities such as student personnel services, financial conditions, and administrative strength in addition to the educational offerings of the schools it accredits.
Commissions for Programs in Hospitality Administration
ITC was founded by a group of esteemed faculty members and business leaders with the goal of promoting the evaluation and improvement of high-quality hospitality administration/management programmes. The agency's specific tasks, obligations, and functions include ensuring an ongoing, efficient system for the accreditation of associate's and baccalaureate-level hospitality education programmes. There are 11 members of the ICT Commission, comprising educators in the hotel industry, industry representatives, and a member from the general public. The Commission members gather twice annually to review, rate, and assess the two- and four-year hospitality programmes offered by colleges and universities domestically and abroad.
What are the objectives of the accreditation process?
The certification body's goals are derived from the thoughts and experiences of people and groups who are working to realize specific educational values and achieve specific educational goals. The founding documents of the accrediting body, including its articles of incorporation, bylaws, and future revisions to these, may serve as a starting point for the overall (generic) aims.
